Speaking about the upcoming physical release, as well as the special edition, Cheryl Vance, co-founder and lead designer at Prideful Sloth, spoke about the game, saying:

At its core, Yonder is about giving people the ability to play however they choose. Naturally, we wanted to extend that freedom to those who prefer their games on physical media. We’re elated to partner with Merge Games and looking forward to the day we can hold this labor of love in our own hands.

Standard boxed copies will be available at major retailers across the globe for $19.99 / €19.99. Additionally, limited editions packed with special merchandise, including an art book and coin based on Yonder‘s in-game currency, will be sold for £30.00 exclusively via Merge‘s Signature Edition Store. Signature Edition pre-orders will also come packed with a bonus collector’s coin. The retail version and limited edition will launch alongside the game’s digital counterparts on July 18, ensuring those who wish to set sail for the vibrant isle of Gemea can farm, craft, fish, cook, brew and explore to their hearts’ content whether they download the game or play on disc.

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is set on the massive island of Gemea, a lush frontier with eight distinct environments ranging from sunny tropical beaches to frigid snowcapped summits. Each location has its own flora and fauna, along with changing seasons and a day-night cycle.  Gemea, once a paradise, still maintains the appearance of one, yet an evil murk has enshrouded the land and its people in despair.
