Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles, the open-world exploration adventure game from developers Prideful Sloth, is set to get a physical release, as well as a special edition; the physical release comes for the PlayStation 4, courtesy of publisher Merge Games. The announcement comes just over a month before the game is set to be released for both the PlayStation 4 and PC.
Speaking about the upcoming physical release, as well as the special edition, Cheryl Vance, co-founder and lead designer at Prideful Sloth, spoke about the game, saying:
“At its core, Yonder is about giving people the ability to play however they choose. Naturally, we wanted to extend that freedom to those who prefer their games on physical media. We’re elated to partner with Merge Games and looking forward to the day we can hold this labor of love in our own hands.”
Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is set on the massive island of Gemea, a lush frontier with eight distinct environments ranging from sunny tropical beaches to frigid snowcapped summits. Each location has its own flora and fauna, along with changing seasons and a day-night cycle. Gemea, once a paradise, still maintains the appearance of one, yet an evil murk has enshrouded the land and its people in despair. You can check out a trailer for the game below.
